Who does what
A typical deployment involves a platform owner, a delivery partner, and hardware vendors. Here is how the roles compare.
| Role | Cambium Solutions | SLICE Wireless Solutions | Hardware vendors |
|---|---|---|---|
| What they are | Survey, design, installation, and managed-support partner | Owner and patent holder of the WiSNET platform | Access point, switch, and controller manufacturers |
| Owns the platform | No — delivers on it | Yes — WiSNET software and patents | No — hardware only |
| On-site work | Site surveys, cabling, mounting, commissioning | Platform enablement and licensing | None — shipped through channel partners |
| Ongoing support | Monitoring, SLAs, moves/adds/changes, tenant onboarding | Platform roadmap and feature releases | RMA and firmware support |
| Who you contract with | Cambium Solutions for the full deployment | Licensed through the deployment, not separately | Purchased inside the project bill of materials |
| Best when | You want one accountable partner end to end | You need tenant slicing or monetized guest WiFi | You have a standardized hardware requirement |
Not sure which combination fits your property? Cambium Solutions stays vendor-neutral on hardware and recommends WiSNET only where tenant isolation or monetized guest access is the requirement.

Scope, deliverables, and who to contact
Common questions about what each partner delivers and when to reach out.
What does Cambium Solutions actually deliver?
Cambium Solutions is the end-to-end delivery partner: site survey, network design, cabling, mounting, commissioning, and ongoing managed support. We stay vendor-neutral on hardware and layer the WiSNET platform on top when tenant isolation or monetized guest access is required.
Who owns the WiSNET platform?
SLICE Wireless Solutions owns the WiSNET platform and its patents. Cambium designs, deploys, and operates WiSNET networks under license — you contract with Cambium for the full deployment, not separately with SLICE.
What are the typical deliverables?
A finished deployment includes a validated coverage design, installed and commissioned access points and switches, the configured WiSNET dashboard (if selected), tenant or venue profiles, and documentation. Ongoing support adds monitoring, SLAs, moves/adds/changes, and tenant onboarding.
When should I contact Cambium Solutions directly?
For surveys, quotes, installation timelines, support tickets, and any change to a live network. If you are not sure who to call, start with Cambium and we route anything platform-specific to SLICE on your behalf.
When should I contact SLICE Wireless Solutions?
For WiSNET platform roadmap questions, feature requests, licensing clarifications, or patent-related inquiries. Most day-to-day operations go through Cambium; SLICE is the platform owner behind the scenes.
Do I pick the hardware, or do you?
We recommend hardware based on your coverage, density, and budget requirements, then quote it inside the project bill of materials. You can standardize on a vendor you already trust, and we will design around it.
Is WiSNET required for every deployment?
No. WiSNET is recommended where you need multi-tenant isolation, monetized guest WiFi, or centralized visibility across properties. For simpler single-network installs, a standard managed WiFi deployment is often enough.
How fast can a deployment start?
A site survey can typically be scheduled within a week of the request. Design, procurement, and installation timelines depend on property size and scope, which we confirm after the survey.
